with Jenn Robertson

810 Dufferin Ave, second floor (stairs only)

Alcohol ink is a fluid art form: flowing, blooming inks make a unique piece each time. You can never completely control it, and that’s part of the beauty. Fluid arts appeal to many because there are no mistakes, just a beautiful, unique result each time. It’s the sweet spot between creation and play.

In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of this enchanting medium: how alcohol inks work, what to use them on, various techniques to create abstract works, and a steps to seal the finished work. Techniques will include wet on dry, wet on wet, brush - dots, feathering, and reactivating. Participants will practice the techniques on photo paper, before making their final 8 x 10 piece on Yupo paper, to then seal at home.
With the basics down, you will have the confidence to create alcohol ink pieces on ceramic, fabric, and other mediums. Your new fave relaxing creative practice!
