with Erin @rooted.plants

at Assembly Studio-- 325 21st St W (cross-street Ave D)

Creating string gardens is an ancient Japanese art form and makes an eye-catching botanical piece. Participants will learn how to create a pot-less environment for their chosen plant. Without the pot, kokedamas are super lightweight and can be hung on a string— who doesn’t love an air plant! Kokedamas are formed by wrapping the root ball of a plant with a wet potting soil/peat mix, followed by soaked moss. They are then tightly bound with twine or cotton rope.

You will take home a medium sized kokedama, and it likely won’t be the last one you make— they make unique decor, and great handmade gifts!
