Kokedamas ・ July 20

60.00

Saturday, July 20, 10 AM - 12 PM

with Erin @rooted.plants

at Assembly Studio-- 325 21st St W (cross-street Ave D)

Kokedamas are a Japanese art form, created by wrapping the root ball of a plant with twine or rope. They make an eye-catching and unusual botanical piece. They are also super lightweight and can be hung on a string— who doesn’t love an air plant!

Particpiants will start from choosing from a variety of medium-sized plants, grown and cared for by Erin, plant lady extraoirdinaire! To the roots we will add a wet potting soil/peat mix, followed by soaked moss. The kokedamas are then tightly bound with twine or cotton rope, in your choice of colour. Participants will also learn how to create a pot-less environment for their chosen plant.

You will take home a medium sized kokedama to place or hang wherever you choose!

This is a Summer Series class. We are welcoming a few extra people to the workshop, thanks to the extra room in our courtyard, and offering a lower seasonal price.
